Saheed Gidado is a public health physician and epidemiologist with extensive experience in infectious disease surveillance, outbreak response, and health systems strengthening, particularly in humanitarian and resource-constrained settings. He holds medical and public health qualifications (MBBS, MPH) and is currently a doctoral researcher in Epidemiology and Public Health at Tampere University.

His work focuses on improving health outcomes among vulnerable populations, especially internally displaced persons (IDPs) in conflict-affected regions of Northeast Nigeria. His doctoral research investigates health-seeking behavior, disease risk perception, and vaccine acceptance, with the goal of designing evidence-based interventions to enhance disease detection, response, and prevention.

Gidado has contributed to multiple epidemiological studies and peer-reviewed publications addressing critical public health challenges such as COVID-19, immunization uptake, polio eradication, Ebola response, tuberculosis, and other infectious diseases. His research and field experience span surveillance systems, vaccination campaigns, and community health education, often within complex emergency contexts.

With a strong background in applied epidemiology and field research, he has collaborated with national and international health organizations and contributed to strengthening public health responses in Nigeria. His work aligns with global health priorities, particularly the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal on Good Health and Well-being.
