AFENET CONDUCTS THE SECOND COHORT OF THE FRONTLINE MALARIA SHORT COURSE

Between 23rd – 27th of May 2022, the African Field Epidemiology Network (AFENET) in conjunction with the United States President’s Malaria Initiative and the National Malaria Elimination Programme, (NMEP) successfully conducted the first cluster of the Frontline Malaria Short Course for Cohort Two Residents. Topics taught in the cluster include Basic malariology, Epidemiology of malaria, Summary statistics, data quality audit, analysis and interpretation of malaria data, Logistics, and procurement chain management in the context of the malaria programme and monitoring and evaluation.
The Frontline Malaria Short Course is an in-service competency-based training aimed at building the capacity of Malaria programme officers and focal persons to improve on Malaria control activities in their respective States. This course is funded by United States President Malaria Initiative.

Participants consist of State Malaria Programme managers and officers from 15 States across Nigeria.
