The Emergency Operations Center was activated following the confirmation of the first case of COVID-19 in Nigeria. The case was detected in Ogun State but taken to Lagos State for isolation and management with a trail of contacts in both states. The EOC was activated at National and State level to enhance coordination activities. The different pillars of the National EOC were headed by graduates of Nigeria FELTP (Epidemiology & Surveillance, Coordination, Laboratory, Case Management and Risk Communication). At the Lagos State EOC, the epidemiology & surveillance pillar was headed by a graduate of Nigeria FELTP, one of the national RRT members developed by NCDC to support Lagos State.
